We have been lucky enough to stay at nearly every Disney Vacation Club (DVC) resort at Walt Disney World, and our latest visit took us to Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa. While we went to explore whether this might be a good choice for our next DVC stay, one thing that immediately caught our attention was the incredible artwork in the lobby—a beautiful collection of paintings featuring famous Disney horses.

Saratoga Springs Resort is inspired by the real Saratoga Springs, New York, a historic town known for horse racing, luxury spas, and elegant Victorian architecture. The resort reflects this theme with its pastel-colored buildings, equestrian-inspired decor, and lush green surroundings. It offers deluxe studios and villas, including the secluded Treehouse Villas, which are nestled in a wooded area along the Sassagoula River.

While the resort is praised for its peaceful atmosphere and direct access to Disney Springs, we were especially enchanted by the horse portraits adorning the lobby. These paintings, presented in the style of classic equestrian art, showcase some of Disney’s most beloved horses in a way that blends Disney magic with old-world elegance.

Disney Horses in the Lobby Portraits
The Saratoga Springs lobby features stunning Victorian-style portraits of iconic Disney horses, each framed in a way that makes them look like prized racehorses from the 19th century. Here are the characters immortalized in these elegant paintings:
- Angus (Brave) – Merida’s powerful and protective black Clydesdale, portrayed in a regal stance.
- Maximus (Tangled) – The determined and duty-bound palace horse, painted with an air of nobility.
- Frou-Frou (The Aristocats) – Madame Bonfamille’s elegant, stylish horse, perfectly suited to the refined aesthetic of the resort.
- Philippe (Beauty and the Beast) – Belle’s gentle and loyal steed, depicted with warmth and softness.
- Pegasus (Hercules) – The winged stallion, full of personality and strength, captured mid-stride.
- Destiny (Enchanted) – The majestic and dramatic horse from Enchanted, bringing fairytale grandeur to the collection.

Each portrait feels like a tribute to Disney’s rich animation history while perfectly complementing the resort’s sophisticated equestrian theme. The mix of art, storytelling, and nostalgia makes this collection a must-see for Disney fans.

For those considering a stay at Saratoga Springs, its location near Disney Springs, spacious accommodations, and unique atmosphere make it a great choice. But even if you’re just passing through, take a moment to admire these breathtaking portraits—a little hidden Disney magic in plain sight.
